The purposes of AAIWV are:
•To preserve and perpetuate the ideas, cultures, and tradtions of Native Americans.
•To enlighten others as to the Native American way of life.
•To raise public awareness of the history and the current life and conditions of Native American peoples and cultures.
•To provide a “home” for Native Americans, their descendants, and those who come seeking a tribal unit.
•To support members who suffer economic or emotional difficulties.
•To engage, educational, or cultural activities of benefit to the membership.
•To encourage the educational system within West Virginia to teach an accurate portrayal of Native American influence in the Appalachian culture.
